Underground California

San Clemente, California

Winter 2007

What do you think?

Robert Isambert the creator of Uprising Films.

He has created a total of three videos: Second Generation, Antomy if a Reveloution and another video is due out soon.

“The next video will be done by the end of this summer (2007) and will be a combination of Cali, Hawaii,Tahiti, all over Mexico, Indo and hopefully more places that I get to travel too. It will still have lots of underground California riders, but will focus more on traveling and lifestyle.”

Robert started filming when he was 15 but didn’t decide to devote all of time, money and efforts to filming until he was 18.

“Unfortunately I am the lone cameraman for Uprising Films so it takes longer to build up footage but I like to try and squeeze outan video once a year because it helps keep me busy. If I made a video every two years it probably would be better quality, but personally I would rather just make one every summer and sell it cheaper. I would like to always keep my videos under $20 usd because as a bodyboarder I know how poor some of us can be.”

Robert finds plenty of time to film.

“In Cali it doesn’t get big often, so I would say sadfully I only really surf a few times a month unless I can get my friends or brother to film when it gets too big for them.”

Rob's crew, composed of Mike Maccarone, John Porzuczek, Charles Marabella, James Dawson, Dustin Dill and Johnny Redmond, are still young and their skill are bound to enhance with Rob's editing.

Since he completed his last film, “Anatomy of a Revolution,” he has more experience in editing and has purchased $9,000 worth of new camera gear.

“If anyone has seen the difference between Second Generation and AOAR, that is how much the new video will improve over AOAR. So in other words, the new video should blow away anything away that I have previously done. Also it shoud appeal to all bodyboarders and not just people interested in Cali waves.”
